一、教学内容分析
This is a play which is adapted from Mark Twain’s short story by the same title. And this reading passage is the third scene in Act one. It mainly introduces the beginning of the story. Two rich brothers, Roderick and Oliver, have made a secret bet whether a man can survive in London for a month with only a million pound bank note. Henry was chosen for their bet. Through the conversation among them, we can know why Henry was chosen. It is his being a stranger, penniless, especially his characters that made him get the luck. We should know luck is not always coming by accident.
