Unit 1 What’s the matter?教学纪实文本

Teaching Content:Go for it !八年级(下) unit1 section A 1a—2d

Teaching procedures:

Step I:Warm—up and Lead—in

Greet the students as usual. Then review some of the words of body parts by playing a “Touch Game”

Ask all the students to stand up. Touch the part of their body according to the teacher’s order. The teacher may say:“Touch your arm.” The students should touch their arm. If they do the wrong action, they have to sit down. In this way , the students can review some of the words of body parts which they have learnt before.

Step Ⅱ. presentation

1、teach another words of body parts: foot, neck, stomach by showing the students some flash cards.

2、Activity I a

Now open your books and turn to page 1. Please look at the picture, I’ll ask a student to read the list of thirteen names of body parts. Ask students to complete the activity individually. Then check the answers.

Step Ⅲ. Listening 1b

①Before listening, the teacher ask five questions. Students look at the pictures carefully, then answer them.

1、How many people can you see in the picture?

2、How many of them are students?

3、How many students are not feeling well ?

4、How many of them are boys and how many are girls ?

5、What are their names ? And how did you get their names ?

② Then the teacher points at the girl at the left bottom in the picture.

T:What happens to her ?

S1:She is ill.

T:Yes, you are right. But how can we ask about her illness?

In English ,we say:“what’s the matter with you ?”

T:And how to answer the question? We can say:“I have a cold.” In the same way, we can learn the following new words:Sore back, sore throat, stomachache.

Play the recording twice. Students only listen for the first time. Then play it again. This time ask students to write a number in front of each picture. Then check the answers.

③教师板书或利用多媒体课件呈现五个学生的名字,要求学生拿出练习本在五人名字后面用have或hurt写出他们各自的身体不适。如:

Nancy :hasXXXXXXXXXX Sarah:hasXXXXXXXXXX Ben:hurtXXXXXXXXXX David:XXXXXXXXXX Judy:XXXXXXXXXX

④教师再次播放听力录音,修正答案,并在上一步骤所完成的内容的下方听写出身体不适的起因或所造成的结果。

⑤教师以课件形式呈现答案,与学生核对。

1、Ask two students to read the sample in speech bubbles to the class.

2、Work with a partner. Make their own conversations about the picture. Ask some pairs to present their conversations to the whole class.

Step Ⅴ Practice 活动2a—2c

1、学生观察2a活动中的图片,思考各幅图画所表现的身体不适,并通过口头陈述、讨论,为听力活动做准备

2、播放第一遍录音,学生完成2a的图片排序活动.

3、以What should this person do?为思考线索,让学生对2a中的人物给出口头建议

4、引导学生朗读2b活动右栏的五条建议,纠正学生读音,并可适当要求学生记忆这些表述.

5、播放第二遍录音,学生完成2b的匹配活动.核对答案时,要引导学生用完整的句子陈述各种建议.

6、学生两人一组,利用2a,2b活动的图文信息仿照2c示范开展口语对话活动.教师巡视指导并及时给予评价.

Step VI. Consolidation

Activity 2d

1、让学生先默读对话,了解对话的大意.

2、就对话内容提问,检查学生的理解情况.

What’s the matter with Lisa?

Did she have a fever?

What did she do the night before?

What does she need to do?

What should she do if things don’t get better?

3、将全班学生分作Mandy和Lisa两人,分角色齐读对话.

4、纠正学生朗读中的不足,让学生交换角色再次朗读,进一步熟悉对话内容.

5、引导学生摘录对话中的固定表达或套语进行学习.主这些内容包括:

 固定套语:Are you Ok? What should I do? It doesn’t sound Like --- That’s probably why.

固定的表现方式:Can’t move my neck; ail weekend; take breaks away from the computer; sit in the same way for too long without moving.

6、学生结对活动,套用2b对话进行角色扮演.

7、让几组学生进行示范性表演,教师适当点评.

Step Ⅶ Summary

1、What’s the matter?你怎么了?

这句话通常用于询问别人身体有什么不舒服或有何麻烦,后跟with构成:What’s wrong / the matter with ---?

2、should用法

Should是情态动词,“应该,应当”,它用来向对方提出建议或忠告,语气比较委婉.其否定形式为Shouldn’t +动词原形,意思是“不应该,不应当”.
