一、教学内容分析



The lesson is Section1 of Unit5 Book1. It is an all-around reading material which shows some information about favorite food. It is a good medium to improve the comprehensive ability and practical using ability of the Ss. The text is not difficult for the students to understand. However, they should work hard to know something valuable such as the importance of the health diet.

However, they should work hard to know something valuable such as the importance of the health diet.

Improve their ability in expressing themselves in English and necessary critical thinking skill.



三、学习者特征分析



Though our students have learnt English for years, they already have certain English knowledge, they still have some difficulties in expressing themselves in English. What’s more, they are interested in new things and have some certain ability of imagination, observation and creation. They are English major and it’s more important for them to grasp different skills in English.



四、教学过程



Step1 warming up( 5’ )

Activity Word-filling

Teacher: Show the task on the screen.

Can you write down a vegetable and fruit beginning with the letter---? Please fill in the blanks in groups. And check some answers.

Students: Do the task.

Step2 Revision ( 3’ )

Teacher: Show some more delicious food. Please talk freely.

Topic: What do you want for your breakfast, lunch and supper?

Students: Talk freely.

Step3 Presentation( 1’ )

Teacher: Show and learn some favorite food.

Students: Interact with each other by listening and speaking.

Step4 Listening(3’ )

Task: Listening

Teacher: Ask the students to listen to the tape carefully and get the main idea.

Students: Listen and finish the exercises

Task1 Fast reading (3’)

Teacher: Read the passage independently and get the main idea of the text.

Students: Read the passage separately and do exercises.

Task2 Intensive reading(5’)

Teacher: Ask the students to read the passage carefully again separately and summarize the main idea in each paragraph. Then show the achievement.

Students: Do the related exercises.

Task3 Language points(4’)

Teacher: Ask the students to find out the key words and useful expressions in pairs.

Students: Do the task. They can help each other.

Task4 Retelling(4’)

Teacher: Let the students summarize the main idea and retell it in English. Show an example.

Task5 Learning health food(2’ )

Teacher: Now, let’s think about: Which group of food does your family often eat and which do you like most?

Students: Learn the words and write them down to prepare for the later exercises.

Step6 Consolidation(10’)

Activity1: Yes or No ( 2’ )

Teacher: According to what they’ve written, let the students finish the exercises on the handout, choosing the right answers for each.

Hand out the checklists to know whether your eating habits is balanced or not. Then count up your--- yes answers.

Activity2 Match—game( 2’ )

Teacher: Show the game on the screen and finish it by yourself.

Do you know how many/much we should eat in a day?

Let’s analyze: What should we eat more/less?

Students: Do the exercises in the form of a quiz.

Teacher: Then help them get a result. We should eat more grains and vegetables. And we should eat less salt and oils.

Activity3 Analyzing ( 3’ )

Teacher: Show the three diagrams. Please help them analyze whether their diets are balanced or not. Whose diet is balanced, whose is not balanced? Why? Let the Ss find out the reasons.

Activity4 Discussion(3’)

Teacher: Show the task and let them discuss. Suppose you were a doctor, please help her/him find out the reason why she/he is so fat.

Students: Pair work, discuss, collect ideas and voice about their opinions.

Step7 Assignment ( 4’ )

At the end of the class, we’ll revise what we have learned. Elect the students to give out their information on the blackboard. Let’s say together: Now I know/ I learn---

Aims: To reinforce what has been learned in class.

Step8 Homework ( 1’ )

Suppose you were an expert, please design a group health food to your family.
