An earthquake is the result of a sudden release(释放) of energy in the Earth’s crust（地壳）.

Earthquakes may result in(导致) disease, loss of life, general property（财产） damage, road and bridge damage and sometimes landslides, fires, flood and even tsunamis.

1906年4月18日，美国旧金山发生8.3级地震

1923年9月1日，日本国关东平原发生8.3级海洋型大地震

1960.5月22 智利 9.5级大地震

1976年7月28日，位于中国东部的唐山发生7.8级大地震。震中烈度为11度。地震释放能量相当于400颗广岛原子弹爆炸。导致有百万人口的唐山市彻底毁灭。242769人死亡。创20世纪地震死亡人数和地震毁灭城市之最。

2008年5月12日14时28分04秒：中国汶川发生8.0级地震，8万人遇难；

2010年04月14日07时49分许：中国青海省玉树藏族自治州玉树县发生7.1级地震

2011年3月11日13点46分，日本发生9.0级地震，并引发海啸与核泄漏爆炸。

2014年8月3日16时30分 在**_*鲁甸县（ 北纬27.1度， 东经103.3度）发生6.5级地震
