?My topic today is You look excited. My presentation consists of six parts.

Part 1 The analysis of the teaching material

(1)Status &Functions:

My teaching material today is taken from Section__B_ of Topic _1_ in Unit_5 in Student Book_4__of Project English.It’s a listening and speaking_lesson, which focused on the topic of You look excited.

(2)My teaching objectives include the following 5 parts.

One, the knowledge objectives :

By the end of the class, Ss will be able to:

(1) take in the usage of the new linking verb: seem;

(2)use the adjectives ending with ed and ing correctly;

(3)talk about feelings freely with the structure of “linking verb+adj.”

Two, the ability objective:

(1)Let students be able to listen to and understand the conversations about expressing feelings;

(2)Talk about likes and dislikes;

(3)Let students write the sentences about asking feelings.

Three, the emotional objective:

After learning this lesson, encourage students to take part in the healthy activities and have the abilities to get rid of undesirable feelings.

(3)The Important points are :

1. Linking Verbs+ adj.

2. Use the adjectives ending with ed and ing correctly.

While the Difficult points are:

Linking Verbs+ adj.

Use the adjectives ending with ed and ing correctly.

Part 2 The analysis of students

The Ss in Grade 8 have learned English for some years. They have a sound foundation. What’s more,they are curious, active, and fond of game, competition, and various activities.Besides,they enjoy learning through cooperation in a relaxing atmosphere. (Therefore,I will pay attention to these in my lesson.)

Part 3 Teaching & Learning methods (6)

Based on the analysis above,the teaching methods employed in my lesson include

CAI/Multi-media teaching method,audio-visual teaching method, communicative teaching method, situational teaching method,3P teaching method and task-based language teaching method.

As to the learning methods,I will teach the students how to be successful language learners , make situation, provide meaningful duty,and encourage the students to study the dialog by themselves ,in pairs or in groups.

Part 4 Teaching aids.

A computer, a projector,a tape recorder, blackboard,and many chalks are needed as the teaching aids.

Part 5 Teaching procedures

There are 6 steps in my teaching procedures. But before teaching, I will divide the

whole class into 4 groups to do competitions while finishing different tasks in this lesson.

Step 1 Greetings and show the learning aims (2min)

T and Ss greet each other.Then Ss read the learning aims .

Purpose:to create a harmonious atmosphere and let Ss pay attention to the aims in lesson.

Step 2 Warming-up and leading-in (3mins)

Free talk; talk something related the topic---movies and feelings.

Purpose: activate the Ss to regard the topic and create a relaxing atmosphere.

Step 3 Pre-listening (5mins)

? There are 3 tasks for the Ss.

⑴ Show some funny pictures and sentences on PPT and then ask the Ss to

? review the adjectives about feelings and guess the meanings of the new words.

(2) Practice the new words and phrases.

(3) Predict the main idea of the dialog based on the picture.

Purpose: through guessing, to arouse Ss learning interest, and help them to learn the

new words and phrases which they may come across while listening, pave the way for

the following learning and cultivate the ability of anticipating/predicting.

Meanwhile, pronunciation of suffix “ed” excited,interested.ect) is highlighted so as to foster students’ phonetic sensitivity.

Step 4 While-listening (12mins)

There are 4 tasks for Ss.

1.Listen to 1a for the first time and choose the correct answer .

2. Listen to 1a again and mark T (True) or F (False), finish 1b and check the answers.

3. Watch the flash of 1a and further understand it, Then match the pictures of their favorite things with the names.

4.Read 1a after the flash.

Step 4 Post-listening (18mins)

There are two tasks for the Ss.

1.Ss read and discuss the dialog with their group members, and find out the language points, such as the key words, phrases, and sentence structures on the blackboard,and then finish the knowledge search.

2. Group work. Retell 1a according to the key points in 1c. Then link them together to form a short passage. Finish 1c.

Purpose: Through group work, cultivate the spirit of cooperation, and train the ability

of solving problems by themselves. In class, the teacher is just a guide, while the Ss are the center, where the teacher just join them, giving suggestions, and offering help

when they need. Meanwhile, ask the Ss to retell the conversation, is an output, and it can evaluates how well the Ss have learned in this lesson.

Step 6 Project (5mins)

1. Make a summary of this lesson.

2. Assigning homework:

l?????? Review key points in Section B.

1 Finish the exercise in the workbook.

l?????Try to find more information about the movie,?The Sound of Music, on the Internet.

l?????? Preview Section C of Unit 5, Topic 1.

Purpose: consolidate the language points and do prepare for the next lesson, and

develop the ability of searching information.
