Step 1 Greetings

Greet the whole class as usual.

Step 2 Lead-in

Look the pictures of some famous and great people and discuss the fine qualities in them.

Step 3 Talking

Talk about your hero.

Who is your hero/heroine？

Why do you like her/him so much？

Did he/she do anything for others？

What are his/her best qualities？

Now you are going to look at a famous man，Bill Gates.Use the skills you have learned about expressing points of view and decide whether you think he is a great man.If you have an opinion about that already，please finish this sentence.

Step 7 Discussion

Now you have to decide what you think of Bill Gates.He is a successful and rich man but is he a great man？Has he given up anything （not money） in his life to help other people and make things fairer in the world？Now please discuss with your partner.

It is necessary for us to have a discussion on hero. Because the time was limited , some students didn’t have a chance to present their views on the theme . Next class we will continue it .
