课题:Unit 5 The Band That wasn’t ------Reading
教学理念:运用Brain-storming and task-based teaching; and cooperative learning来设计这堂课的教学。
教材分析:本单元以音乐和音乐类型为中心话题。以图片形式的直观展示引发学生对音乐的了解,增强对音乐的兴趣。Reading这篇课文是围绕着门基乐队的形成和成长历程展开的。作者先以设问的方式引发读者从个人梦想,生活经历和熟悉的人物等来逐步切入本文的中心话题—------一个乐队是怎样形成的。这种感兴趣的话题容易使学生兴趣盎然,有话可谈。通过本单元的学习,让学生了解到有关音乐的知识。
学情分析:学生在做阅读理解题时,总是会出现一些概括大意和阅读细节题的解答,在这一方面以及英语的自我运用方面会出现错误,这样在教学中应该教给学生如何做阅读题的阅读技巧逐渐培养学生的阅读理解能力。
Teaching aims: Have a general understanding of the text.
To improve students’ ability in solving problems.
Help students to develop their abilities to express opinions in your words.
Emotion aims: Get students to know information about music and develop their cooperative spirits.
Teaching important points: Understanding the main idea of the passage and the development of Moonkees.
Teaching difficult points: How to cultivate reading skills
Teaching methods: Task-based method, cooperative learning and discussion.
Teaching aids: A computer and projector
Teaching procedures:
StepⅠ.Lead-in:(about 1 minute)
Greetings
Before the class begins, Let Ss enjoy “Take me to your heart”.
Get students to read teaching aims together.
1. Have a general understanding of the text.
2. To improve student’s ability in solving problems.
3. Help students to develop their abilities to express opinions.
Step Ⅱ.Warming up: (5minutes)
T:Today we are going to talk about an interesting topic---music. As we know, we can produce a lively and happy atmosphere and bring people relaxation.
We will do some tasks in class.⑴Firstly let’s do brain-storming exercise.
Look at the screen (there is a tree standing for music family)
Please name different kinds of music (Who wants to try?)
Ss: pop music; light music; country music; rap music; chorus.
(2)Then, We will play a game about guessing. Which is kind of music after listening each piece of music? (Attract students’ attention) I will give some implies.
You should choose your lucky number containing different kinds of music. (Who like to?)
Ss choose 2, 5, 4, 1, then guess it.
Step Ⅲ.Reading:
In our daily life, most young people, like you, love music too.
Especially some of them get together to create their own music. What do we call them? (Lead to
the topic of band.)

Do you know any famous bands? List some if you do. (look at some pictures, and guess which band do they belong to?

Read the whole text quickly and answer two questions.
